We operate our twice daily lessons out of the pristine, calm waterways of Shingley Beach. We at Whitsunday Stand Up Paddle and Kayak know it’s not a case of jumping on a board and see what happens! We offer our introduction to Stand Up Paddle (SUP) boarding which gives you an excellent foundation into the fastest growing water sport in the world. You learn from the best instructors the basics in a safe area right next to Able Point Marina. Then, put that knowledge into practice by exploring the beautiful Whitsundays with the tour portion of your SUP lesson and tour of Shingley Beach.
Great for corporate outings, families, and Buck/Hen get-togethers! Must have five or more participants!
Breakdown of what you learn during our lesson:
- Safety
- Getting familiar with equipment
- Right paddle size
- How to carry a board
- Paddle stroke
- Paddle turn
- How to stand
- Where to stand on board
- Parallel stance
- Control the board’s direction
- Using the paddle to keep stable
- And of course the number one thing: HAVING LOTS AND LOTS OF FUN!
No Experience Necessary!!
All gear supplied, plus:

All you have to bring is a hat, towel, water bottle, and a BIG SMILE!
Operating two terrific times daily:
Time for breakfast option, 9.30 am – 12 pm
Time for lunch option, 1 – 3.30 pm
